The meals were also very below average. The island surf bowls were mainly rice, very skimpy with the toppings and sauce. Nothing special here. The guys got the fish tacos, decent at best.
Our visit was on Monday, August 7th, 2017 around 5pm.
Beers are ok, just out of a few. The food if I was the owner would never put my name on, I have had better pizzas from 7-11, the chess sticks are horrible came out of a bag and rather sucked. The owner/Manager should visit Bjs Brew house. For tips and tricks.
Food: the food was very sub-par. We ordered three apps, mozzarella sticks (average), boneless chicken strips which were literally inedible, burnt to a crisp, then doused with sauce likely in hopes we wouldn't notice. The third app never arrives.
Beer: The beer was not good. There were four of us - all of whom are seasoned craft beer drinkers and all of whom are NOT picky. We decided to try one of every beer, sample sizes. Our intention was to find the favorites then order full pints; this never happened. Each beer was barely good, some so undrinkable we joked about who had to suffer through finishing. Let me stress, we love beer, craft beer, and have a wide ranging tastes. These beers just are not good.
This place is not worth the stop and is way overpriced for what you get in return. Save your money and appetite for somewhere else, and if you want good craft beer, there are plenty of smaller breweries around the are that haven't forgotten about maintaining quality.
Other: the roof was leaking onto us while it rained and the server just looked up and shrugged it off. They didn't even put a bucket under it.
I have to say, I didn't go in expecting much, since the trend is typically that good breweries stay small and focus on quality, and as they grow, advertise, add a restaurant, etc, the quality suffers. So I went in expecting decent (not amazing) beer, decent food, and okay service, and with that, I would have been sufficiently satisfied and rated it 4 stars.
My boyfriend's seven year old loved his hot dog. Not too hard to please a kid.
Service: it took 20 minutes for us to get the first two glasses of water. The place WAS NOT busy at all. It took about 20 more minutes after that to get beer. After that, our service was better.
Expected mediocrity, got even worse. Also I find it strange that all the previous devious are now missing, since a few weeks ago there were many more.
