Review is based on poor customer service at ticket counter only. We arrived 40 minutes early for the Assateague adventure tour & were told they were waiting for more passengers and if we have a seat at restaurant they would come get us and keep us posted. At 5:25 I went to check on status of the 5:30 tour..only to see the boat leaving. Employees at counter laughed about it and not one apologized. I did try to contact a manager, but they stated they did not have his # and no one responded to my direct email. Very disappointing, negative experience for our entire party!
On the return trip, the guide shows off some of the bigger sea life that can be found in the area: a sea star, a horseshoe crab, and a conch, among others.
Unfortunately, the only pony we saw on our tour was George, the lonely stallion. The crew made a reasonable attempt to locate others, but they must have been inland and out of view. Such is how it goes with wild animals, and we were happy to overlook this minor let-down for the other enjoyable parts of the cruise.
My wife and I went on the Assateague Adventures tour in early September, 2014, and loved it! The guides were very informative and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed being able to get up close with some of the local sea life on the island. The tour stops for about 15 minutes on the bay side of the island, and nets are supplied. Amy found a blue crab, a hermit crab, and a whelk in the surf.
First time in ocean city and Im loving every minute since I got here. The boat trip is great if you just want to relax and kick back. Me and my wife enjoyed our trip and its great for kids as well. The captain and the crew mate is very informative and humorous to. You do get to dock on the island and you can explore for 15 minutes to 25 minutes give or take. The experience is great and it does make you forget about all your problems. Definitely recommend it for families and people who want to relax.☺

Assateague adventure boat tour was very good! Only complaint was the showing of the clam, conch, etc... The tour guide allowed very small kids to hold and show them to everyone. They pretty much ran up and down the boat dropping these poor things. No one really saw any of them.
