I began staying at The Atlantic back in 1976, when you left your sleeping room to go the the Victorian claw foot bathtub in the private bathroom down the hall to take your bath. On ground level for coming off the beach, there was a bath house where we girls could change out of our bathing suits, shower and get into street clothes; and it was filled with quaint mismatched Edwardian dressing tables and mirrors! As the years have passed this historic hotel has seen many upgrades and modernization but not so much as to lose its originality, warmth and charm. It is not a sleek modern cookie-cutter hotel. If you want that, find a chain. If you want a sense of old town Ocean City and feel like slipping a little back in time, this place is for you. The rooms are well maintained, decorated tastefully and management is wonderful. You can sit on the deck and catch the rays or watch the boardwalk and the ocean beyond. My favorite part is the beautifully appointed 'parlor' area off the front desk. At night after my shower, I put on comfy clothes, soft footies, go downstairs with a cup of herbal tea and curl up in one of the great sofas or chairs to read a favorite book. Sorianos is just down to street for GREAT breakfasts; The Angler and Marina Deck Restaurants are a short walk away for lunch/dinner. Get there early enough to watch the deep sea fishing yachts come in and marvel at the Rt 50 bridge raising for passage; Historic Trimpers and big kid rides and games are just a block or two away. You can park your car in their lot and not move it the entire stay. Charlie (owner) is a dedicated hard-working lady. This place is like a home away from home for me. I LOVE it!
The traditional place for our soccer team to stay for the Sand Soccer tournament. We all love the large deck and easy access to the soccer fields. A very cozy place that holds much sentimental value for our team.
Perfect location with outstanding historical character. Clean, family owned, and tremendous spot on the boardwalk with a viewing terrace. We've been coming to the Atlantic since the early 90s and don't plan to change.
this hotel has a great location and some good things about it. however this hotel "provides" wifi (it doesn't actually work). the bathrooms do not have a sink, but the bedrooms do! also housekeeping liked to come in and wake us up every single morning at 9 am. With teenagers in the room its a terrible idea. but what also goes with that is that our room was not cleaned at all yet because they don't come in because we are in there.
I love this hotel. it is a quaint historic hotel that is well maintained. Amazing location on the boardwalk just steps away from the inlet fun. Needs a better elevator. the one they have is super old and needs one of the staff to operate it so most of the time you must take the stairs. Rooms by the deck have to deal with the noise of slamming doors as people go in and out. Still it is my favorite hotel on OC
*I'm adding photos from years past, as the owners tend to do a parlour decor redo every couple of years and there have been some gorgeous iterations you might enjoy.
