After reading the reviews and seeing the pictures online, we decided to reserve a Ocean Front suite for the weekend. Unfortunately our bad experience started right from the time of check in. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and condescending. Once we got to our room, things got worse. The suite was tiny compared to how it is advertised online. The queen beds are stuck to the wall and there is hardly any space to put luggage in the bedroom. There was dirt on the floor, bedsheets had spots on them, pillows smelled bad and there was mold at various spots in the suite. The suite is also cheaply finished and shows poor quality of material used and craftsmanship. We ended up leaving the hotel in a few hours and also observed another family asking for the refund. Would stay in the Holiday Inn next door which has about the same rate.

Room was SO humid and had an odd smell. It was humid to the point that the carpet felt damp the whole time and everything in the room seemed damp. It was actually less humid out on the balcony. Shower was no good with barely any water pressure. Don't bother trying to wash your hair if you have thick hair. Room was clean though and the bed very comfortable. Balcony was huge and plenty of nice seating out there. Nice view of the beach and the bay. Location was excellent with easy access to boardwalk and beach. Parking was a bit of a pain. Staff was friendly. Overall, a very convenient hotel but the room was disappointing after seeing the new renovated pictures online and almost uncomfortable to stay in because of the humidity and smell. Probably would not stay here again.

This is a nice hotel right on the board with its own pizza shop in it. The rooms are okay. Looks like they’ve been updated, but work that was done was really sloppy. I would stay here again, friendly staff and clean. I would suggest staying in the bungaló, it’s a little bigger. The main building has a better view though.

The Commander is a great hotel. I got the Captain suite and there is a huge balcony with ocean view and futon outside. The shower is so big and fancy I love it. King size bed and all at a decent price compared to other places. Would love to stay here again.

Cabanas are beautiful. Place is clean and updated. It was a great all around experience. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. Pots, pans , utensils and a full refigerator. All of this was great, the reason we will not stay there again is the parking. There is next to no parking at the hotel. They make this out to be no big deal and tell you of their second lot just one street over. Do not be fooled. This is a decent walk and when you are paying $350 a night, that is too much to ask.
